While the hotel itself is splendid, what I’ll remember most are the immersive journeys. Every drive is wonderous, passing through this singular landscape of muscular mountains, barren cliffs with vertical gullies, and boulder-strewn river beds. Through this moonscape we dodge herds of goats, free-ranging horses and fearless Himalayan cows. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen, beautiful and terrifyingly harsh, all at once.
